Broward Transitional Center
An Overview Of The Broward Transitional Center
Pompano Beach, FL is home to the Broward Transitional Center, more commonly referred to as “BTC.” This is a for-profit center that can house up to 600 detainees at once. It is currently managed by GEO Group. BTC houses those with no criminal history or a history of nonviolent crimes. It is also utilized for migrants seeking asylum.
The visitation hours for friends and families are only on Saturdays and Sundays depending on the last three numbers of the alien number of the detainee. Each detainee can only receive visitors every other weekend. Saturday morning hours are from 8 am to 10:30 am and Saturday afternoon hours are from 1:30 pm – 4 pm. Sunday hours are only from 8 am – 10:30 am and no more than 4 adults are allowed to visit at one time. We recommend that you call the facility prior to your visitation to check which weekend you will be able to visit your loved one.
If you need representation for a detainee at BTC, contact the team at Serving Immigrants Inc. to compare your options.
